Review: Pinot Noir
Australian Gourmet Traveller Wine, Bob Campbell MW, December 2010 (Australia)
5 stars, 95 points
Elegant wine - quite aromatic with floral, cherry, new leather and subtle spicy characters. Reasonably complex, with layers of flavours. It shows a lot of winemaker influence in a very positive way. An ethereal texture and lingering finish.”

“The 2008 Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir is now firmly in the light, delicate camp and loses nothing for it. Think Beaune and you will get the idea – pale hue, fine fragrance with gentle spice leads to a subtle and restrained savoury palate with an almost slightly tart edge that makes it rather moreish. Fruit is in the cranberry/rhubarb/poached berryfruit spectrum, fine balance and moderate length – delicious drinking, albeit in a subdued and thoughtful style.”

“Softly mouthfilling Marlborough red with strong cherry, plum and spice flavours, finely integrated nutty oak and ripe, supple tannins. Enticingly scented and intensely varietal, with a hint of herbs, savoury complexity and lovely flow across the palate.”
