Background
A limited release wine first made in 1989 and since only in the vintages when optimum conditions prevail. Sapped almost dry by the botrytis fungus, individual bunches are selected and hand picked from bare canes in late autumn. The style is lusciously sweet and fruity with a crisp natural acidity that balances the sweetness and gives the palate length and freshness on the finish. As the wine matures in the bottle, it gains richness and develops attractive beeswax characters. Typically, this wine age gracefully for 4 - 6 years after the vintage date.
