Magnum Winner Announced

And the winner is....Vernon Chalker.  Well done!

All you need to do is read Vernon's comments and I'm sure you will agree that he has put a lot of thought into his tasting and his tasting notes.  (See comments relating to my last blog post)  Very good material for discussion, which is after all what Pinot at Cloudy Bay is all about.  I especially appreciate the comment about linking the Argyle Pinot with your mother's bacon and egg pie... Pinot Noir can certainly unearth long lost memories.

Vernon, 3 Cloudy Bay Pinot magnums are on their way to you.  Enjoy.  I look forward to catching up at one of your fine establishments, perhaps The Gin Palace, next time I am in Melbourne!!

Hey wow! Thank you Nick. It was lucky that I ran into you as you were leaving Il Bacaro that night and you were heading, with Mick Formosa, to Gin Palace. You reminded me about the blog. It was such a great few days, and I felt inspired to reflect on the experience. Just to clarify; I meant to imply that the Soter Pinot (great wine) reminded me of my Mother's egg and bacon pie, not the Argyle. Poor syntax, but still a winner. I love you Cloudy Bay!
